High Tea at Home

Spending a good time with friends or having a nice evening tea with family, expecting some guests in the late afternoon, or just enjoying your own company, high tea at home is such a cozy and warm meal everyone deserves.

What Is High Tea?

What is better than having a simple afternoon tea? A high tea, because high tea is a light meal you can enjoy along with tea and your loved ones. It is mainly known as English Tea or British Tea because of its origin in England.

Here I am going to share 3 simple steps with you to set up a nice high tea at home. You will also learn what kind of meal or snacks you can serve with the tea.

1. Venue

And by the venue, I mean the place you would like to choose for the high tea. It can be your lawn, garden, dining room, or guest room. Clear the mess and make sure the place is all clean and tidy. The next step is to set the table. Take out your best cutlery. You can decide your cutlery according to your theme i.e. floral, classic, modern, or plain. Just ensure to use the same set of cups, teapots, and saucers. Arrange the cake stand, teacups, and other cutlery neatly.

2. Menu

There are no restrictions on what kind of food you want to serve at a high tea, but if you need some ideas, then I suggest some regarding meals. Try biscuits, pastries, cakes, doughnuts, and tea cakes for sweets. You can also serve the bread with butter, honey, Nutella, or jam.

Not everyone has a sweet tooth, so we will consider other options like mini pizzas, sandwiches, chicken or veggie rolls, and fries.

3. Decor

A high tea table should look simple and decent. You can choose a specific theme for high tea and decorate the table accordingly with color-matching flowers and napkins. Or try lighting candles and arranging some flower pots on the table. Also, you can use a floral or fruity air spray to refresh the environment.

With these 3 simple steps, you can arrange a lavish high tea at home.
